Accessing and Downloading Your Facebook Information

Facebook provides you with ways to access, download and transfer your information to another service.
Access Your Information
You can access specific information about your activity on Facebook, including your posts, photos, reactions, comments and messages, as well as other information, using our Access Your Information tool.
Download Your Information
You can download a copy of information you've provided to Facebook using the Download Your Information tool. You can download this information in an HTML format that is easy to view, or in a JSON format, which will allow you to transfer your information to another service.
Downloading your information is a password-protected process that only you can initiate. Once you've created a file, it will be available for download for a few days. Your downloaded file may contain sensitive information. You should keep it secure and take precautions when storing, sending or uploading it to any other services.

You can also access information about your Facebook account elsewhere on the platform through the Activity Log, Ads Preferences and Off-Facebook Activity tools, that, altogether, give you access to, and control over, your personal data.
Please note that your file doesn't include content that you've deleted from your Facebook account.
Important: If you delete your Facebook account before receiving your account information, we are not able to resend a copy of your information as we no longer retain any information when an account has been permanently deleted.
Our Privacy Policy has more information about how we collect and use your information, how it's shared and how long we retain it.
For more information on how we collect, share and use information, please review our Privacy Policy. You can also contact us.

You can transfer a copy of some of your information, including photos, videos, posts, events and notes by selecting the Transfer a copy of your information option under ‘Your Information and permissions’ tab in your Accounts Center.

Our Privacy Policy has more information about how we collect and use your information, how it’s shared and how long we retain it.
